| Airline bookings | South Africa is a favorite travel destination, so booking 8 to 10 months in advance is advised to get the best airfares. In Holland: D-reizen biedt op alle vliegtickets de laagste prijsgarantie! |
| Real estate purchase | Remax - Contact Danie Bruwer on his cellphone (SA) +27082 824 6381 |
| Checking your email | No problem in Knysna. There are plenty of Internet Cafés for about R15 to R20 per half hour (€1,50 to 2). |
| Criminality in Knysna | Knysna is not J'burg or Durban...we feel safe...no fences no barbwire...but no reason not to be prudent- Like anyplace in the world now you have to keep alert but our 10 years experience has only been positive. |
| Weather | Knysna has a temperate climate making it the ideal all-year holiday destination. Summer average 27 C( which is European Winter), winter ( which is European summer) varies from 10 to 23C. Frost is infrequent to absent and hot, dry Bergwinds during winter contribute to an altogether equitable climate. Knysna is surrounded by indigenous forests that survive on meagre rain, that falls all year round. You will see why we love to go there every Feburary where is between 26 and 36 degrees compared to Netherlands -10 to 10 degrees celcius. |
| Clothing to wear | Don't bring too many outfits, you'll only wear casual summer clothes from Sept to June. A sweater and a light rainjacket for a cool day and for the evenings. Jackets and ties are a taboo in relaxed Knysna! |
| Knysna Tourist Office | Tourist office is located on the main street of Knysna. |
| Travel routes | We like to fly direct from Amsterdam to Capetown and stay 1 day ...then travel by car to Knysna. When we are in a hurry we go to J'burg and catch an internal flight to George which is only 45 minutes drive to Knysna. |
